Café Tropical is a smoothie and juice bar. They wanted vibrant branding for their merchandise and store to match their punchy, natural flavors while not coming across as an exclusive, expensive health food brand. I researched their ingredients, ideal customers and competition set to see how I could help them stand out.
Using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator, I developed a color palette that could stand the test of time with several possible tone-on-tone, complimentary and contrasting color combinations. I developed a series of hand-drawn illustrations to add texture, iconography and seamless pattersns to the brand. For the logo, I chose a blocky type full of personality with natural, imperfect lines to make the brand approachable. I paired it with free Google font Montserrat for a seamless transition as the brand scales and is translated across print and digital materials.
The brand is bold and down-to-earth with a blend of custom, hand-drawn elements, product photography that creates enticing marketing materials and illustrated flavor profiles. In other words, the brand looks as tasty and imaginative as its products.
