Café Tropical is a smoothie and juice bar that wanted vibrant branding for their merchandise and store to match their punchy, natural flavors. However, they didn't want to come across as an exclusive, expensive health food brand. I researched their ingredients, ideal customers and competition set to see how I could help them stand out.
Using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator, I developed a color palette that could stand the test of time with several possible tone-on-tone, complimentary and contrasting color combinations. I developed a series of hand-drawn illustrations to add texture and iconography to the brand. For the Logo font, I chose a blocky, font full of personality with natural, imperfect lines to make the brand approachable. I paired it with free Google font Montserrat for a seamless transition between print and digital materials.
The brand is bold and down-to-earth with a blend of custom, hand-drawn elements product photography that creates enticing marketing materials and illustrated flavor profiles. In other words, the brand looks as tasty and imaginative as its products.
